Just a couple of figures to look at when comparing Clinton vs. Bush. The data comes from http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2005/sheets/hist01z3.xls and I created the charts to mimic an incorrect representation of Deficit in Dollar Amounts to a correct representation of Deficit as a Percentage of Total GDP.

Based on this information, Bush is doing no worse than any other president. Especially considering he's now endured a major terrorist attack, a war, a busted economy from a tech bubble, and many major natural disasters (Hurricane Francis, Jeanne, Katrina, Rita).
